Later, they had to contend with the growing number of wind instruments of American jazz. The resonator was constructed using a clever approach that involved inserting one or more light metal vibrating cones into the guitar's body. In accordance with a function that is strikingly similar to that of the 'cones' of electric loudspeakers, these were connected to the bridge by the vertex. The direct contact between the strings and the cones significantly increased the vibrations. The resonator guitar excels in the quick arpeggios that are typical of rural American music because of its combination of midrange frequencies, strong attack, and low sustain. A 20-fret South American Roupana fingerboard, a mahogany neck, a spruce top, and Sapeli laminated mahogany back and sides make up the Eko Guitars Resonator.
